Pooch purses can go anywhere
Jennifer Liu has come up with a solution to those passionate pet-lovers who do as the celebs did (a few seasons ago!) and use their dogs as accessories.
Now instead of carrying the real deal, they can tote around one of Liu’s pet-inspired handbags and save themselves the looks of annoyance in the drugstore — not to mention the fashion “faux paws.”
Liu created her company, Fuzzy Nation, out of her singlewide trailer in Lafayette, N.J., after her house burned down in 2005.
The pooch purses were launched in March 2007 with three distinct lines: Fuzzy Nation, Love on a Leash and a couture collection.
Whether it’s the white leather pug, orange-snakeskin Boston terrier or soft golden Lab that speaks to you, prices range from $59.99 to $190.
This spring Liu is introducing new fabrics and new breeds such as the warm paisley dachshund and the longhaired Shih Tzus as well as cosmetic bags and dog-inspired key chains nicknamed, “Biscuits.”
