FOR EVENINGWEAR, WHAT'S IN STYLE IS WHAT FITS YOU BEST
Say goodbye to strict rules for eveningwear - this summer's sultry styles run the gamut from micro-short and flowing to long and body-hugging.

In the ever-changing world of evening wear, the one constant is elegance. So it was an obvious choice to ask dancers with the Kansas City Ballet and artistic director William Whitener to grace our pages in the latest gowns and tuxedos.
Summer is finally here, and designers are celebrating with colorful dresses in graphic patterns. Some of the hottest colors are sunflower yellows and Kelly greens. Hemlines have lowered a little bit from last year to a more moderate knee length or right above. And there's a flattering shape for every figure.

Animal prints are a key ingredient in this summer’s safari trends. Anne Klein designed this roll-sleeve shirt dress and nipped it at the waist with a wide belt.

Great tailoring by Armani gives this linen Nehru jacket a trim fit. An Ike Behar window pane shirt adds some pattern to the neutral color scheme. Chocolate washed linen trousers by Ballin Sport add comfort to the otherwise structured look.

With the whirlwind of ever-changing trends, it’s refreshing to see a resurgence of classic styles.
Classic is mainly about the quality and lines of a garment. Not only does a piece need to have a traditional silhouette, but its the fabric must be timeless as well. Silk, cashmere, linen and crisp cotton are all natural materials with great longevity that will take you from season to season with minimal wear and tear.

Neutral classics are reinvented with sheer fabrics this season. This high-waisted silk chiffon dress from Banana Republic is belted with cream ribbon and has the traditional lines of a shirt dress.
